The results confirm that the analysis of disciplinary combinations reveals more detailed information of interdisciplinary collaboration than what disciplinary distribution has provided. Among 38 disciplines contributing to research in polymer science, researchers of polymer science only collaborate with researchers across 22 disciplines.
