An investigation was carried out on twenty one rice genotype during kharif, 2021 at the experimental field of Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, SHUATS, Allahabad in Randomized Block Design with three replications to analyze heritability and genetic advance for 14 quantitative characters. A close examination of variability coefficients revealed that the differences between PCV and GCV were small indicating little influence of environment on the expression of the characters. High to

High estimates of heritability were observed for days to maturity, number of total tillers per hill, plant height, days to 50% flowering, grain yield per hill which suggested that these traits would respond to selection owing to their high genetic variability and certainly lead to improvement in grain yield. Moreover, the information generated from this study, can be exploited in future rice breeding program.
