1994
The Review of Regional Studies
Using a decompo~ition metbodolo&Y developed by Neum•k md 1987 CPS data to investigate the regional differenc:ea in labor market discrimination in the United States, we find thal there are minor regional differences in the wage gap between males IIIIi females md between blacks IIIIi whiles. However, we fmd thal there ia l•ge regional v.-iation in the components of the wage gap thal il due to labor market dilaiminl1ion. We find thal the regions with the l•geat wage gaps are not necessarily the regions with the wgest labor m•ket discrimirlllion.
