Operative Time and Other Outcomes of the Electrothermal Bipolar Vessel Sealing System (LigaSure™) Versus Other Methods for Surgical Hemostasis: A Meta-Analysis
2008
Surgical Innovation
CRD summary The authors concluded that electrothermal bipolar vessel sealing systems reduced operating time by approximately one quarter compared to conventional methods of haemostasis, without increased blood loss, pain and complications. In view of methodological limitations in the review, in particular the failure to adequately address heterogeneity between the studies, these conclusions may need to be regarded with some caution.
