This paper reviewed the recent advance in the antioxidant therapy for digestive diseases. Many reports have supported that lipid peroxidation mediated by oxygen radicals is implicated in the pathogenesis of gastric mucosal injury, intestinal damage, acute pancreatitis, and liver injury, and several kinds of antioxidant, which are divided into the preventive antioxdant and chain-breaking antioxdant, are effective in the treament of these diseases.
