Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kondisi ekosistem hutan mangrove berdasar-kan Kriteria Baku Kerusakan Mangrove dan menyusun strategi pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove di Sungaitohor. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari sampai dengan Mei 2017 di Desa Sungaitohor. more » ... ntuk bujur sangkar dengan ukuran 10 × 10 m 2 dimana didalamnya terdapat petakan 5×5 m 2 untuk anakan dan 2×2 m 2 untuk semai. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 11 jenis mangrove. Jenis mangrove yang dominan di lokasi penelitian adalah jenis Avicennia alba. Ber-dasarkan kriteria baku kerusakan mangrove, kondisi mangrove dalam kondisi baik dimana kisaran kerapatan pohon adalah 666,67-2333,33 pohon/ha, substrat pada daerah hutan mangrove adalah lumpur berpasir. Rata-rata indeks keanekaragaman po-hon rendah (H'= 0,74), diakibatkan tingkat abrasi pantai tinggi dan tumbuhan mangrove yang berasosiasi. Strategi konservasi dijelaskan bahwa hutan mangrove di Desa Sungaitohor dalam kawasan yang dilarang dalam kepemilikan perseorangan, kawasan mangrove ini tidak diperbolehkan untuk membuka lahan, pemukiman, tambak ikan dan penebangan kayu mangrove secara bebas. Abstract This study aims are to examine the condition of mangrove forest ecosystem based on Standard Criteria of Mangrove Damage and the develop strategy of mangrove ecosystem. Research has been conducted from February to May 2017 in Sungaitohor Village of Riau Province. The method used in this research is survey method, where each tran-sect is stretched from sea to sea. In each of the mangrove zones located along the tran-sect line, a square plot of trees with a size of 10 × 10 m 2 in which there is a 5 × 5 m 2 plot for the seedling and 2 × 2 m 2 for the seed. The study recorded 11 mangrove species. The dominant mangrove species in the study sites is Avicennia alba. Based on the standard criteria of mangrove damage, the mangrove were in good condition with the density of trees ranged 666.67-2333.33 trees/ha. The organic content of waters ranged from 8.94-18.09 % and the substrate type the mangrove forest area was sandy mud. The diversity index was (H'= 0.74), value due to the high coastal abrasion rate and associated mangrove plant. The conservation strategy of mangrove forest in Sun-gaitohor Village was done by applying in a prohibition for private ownership, not allowing land clearance, not giving permission in fish ponds of and mangrove logging freely
