Implants are usually manufactured in titanium alloys due to their biocompatibility and high corrosion resistance. The additional elements present in titanium alloys increase the mechanical properties but also increase the possibility of infectious-inflammatory processes in the implanted region. Commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) has lower mechanical properties, but it can be processed by severe plastic deformation for grain refining and enhancement of mechanical behavior.
