Theoretical and Computational Study of Pitching Airfoils at Different Operating Conditions

The aerodynamic features of pitching NACA0009 airfoil are explored in the present study. The objective is to investigate the impact of pitching mean angle of attack and amplitude on the temporal variation of airfoil aerodynamic coefficients. Numerical simulation results using a commercial CFD solver are compared with those of the analytical prediction approach. The results of both approaches are found in a good agreement.
