This paper focuses on safety assessment of microwave breast screening systems. Using numerical analysis, a heterogeneous, life-like breast phantom is illuminated by an antenna, currently used in experimental microwave imaging systems, from several locations and at several frequencies. These frequencies correspond to the content of experimental pulses used in microwave detection systems.
