The article deals with the historical background and the formation of Siberia – Krasnoyarsk urban agglomeration in the 20th and early 21st centuries. The factors that contributed to the growth of the Krasnoyarsk-city are shown as well as transformation stages of the neighbouring settlements. The results of design works and practical measures aimed at the formation of the planning structure of the Krasnoyarsk agglomeration are described for the period under review.
