Context as a Tool for Organizing and Sharing Knowledge
2010
International Conference Knowledge Engineering and Knowledge Management
This paper describes how tools and technologies have been developed within the ACTIVE project to enable user context to be employed to organize and share knowledge. The approach taken is a combination of topdown, where the user explicitly creates and manages context on the system, and bottom-up, where machine intelligence techniques support the user. The work of ACTIVE is being validated in three case studies, and the paper describes in particular how the approach to context is being validated in a case study in BT.
