The production of vector bosons (Z and W) in association with jets provides a stringent test of perturbative QCD and is a background process in searches for new physics. Differential cross-section measurements of vector bosons produced in association with jets and heavy flavor quarks in protonproton collisions at center of mass energies of 8 TeV and 13 TeV in the CMS experiment at the LHC are presented.
