This paper describes an implementation of a digital equalizer with low sensitivity coe 伍 cients . This equal 三 zer uses versatile and simpli 丘ed circuits for high quality signal processing . Several problems are examined from view points of the coe 田 cient quantization efEect and finite word length op . eration , which are inevitable in practical equalizers .
more » ... sented here is a new equa 艮 一 izer design procedure which incorporates the coe 缶 cient quantization algorithm for decreasing errors caused by 丘nite . length words with small multiplication ntlmber . Actual models are also described and co 皿 pared to conventional procedures , Two useful methods are proposed ; one is for est 三 皿 at 三 ng the apprQpriate coe 躡 cient word length for the correct frequency response , the other is for estimating the operation length for maintaining high signal quality , Some exa 皿 ples of the estimation are also shown . It is found that the methQds can be applied to general equalizer design. Computer simulations ver 三 fy the usefulness of the methods and the feasibility of the equalizer implementation .
