Protective and Therapeutic Effect of Green Tea (Camellia sinesis) against Rat Prostate Cancer

This investigation was conducted to evaluate the protective and therapeutic effect of green tea to ameliorate the deleterious effects of prostate cancer in rats. The obtained data revealed a significant elevation in tumor markers (PSA, TAP and PAP levels) after induction of cancer prostate in rats in comparison with the normal control one. Also, there was a significant decrease in total testosterone, free testosterone and DHEA-S concentrations, but the serum MDA level was increased
