The results of investigations on the creation and study of properties of a new class of promoted cobalt-alumina catalysts with high reduction process values are presented. The expediency of applying the method of thermal pretreatment of the cobalt oxide precursor salt for increasing the reduction degree of catalytic system and reducing the probability of cobalt-alumina spinel structures formation is explained.
