... ملجلة (العدد الثانى ) Innovative formulations for the hand weaving based on the shape of circle as a forming base availing from of the concepts of fractal theory Summary: Fractal geometry is a very good field for research; it has opened the way to both artists and designers to benefit from its systematic structure. Fractal art is one of the modern digital arts that have been generated by using computers to produce complicated digital designs by feeding the computers with mathematical equations that come out in the form of complicated and creative designs. On the other hand, circle is one of the Euclidean geometric shapes that consists of a group of joint curved lines that has been used since ancient times to refer to eternity and infinity. When it is been used in a designs, it gives the psychological impression of gentleness, kindness, continuity and dynamics, and it is been used a lot in in fractal designs, a good example of this theory, is Apollonius gasket. Based on what has been mentioned earlier, the current research suggests a new approach to incorporate the weaving art-work with the circle as a basic element on forming designs inspired from fractal geometry that will enrich contemporary weaving art-work. The research aims to detect and analyze the forming bases of fractal geometry especially the circle shape, furthermore creating weaving art-work based on the circle shapes inspired from fractal geometry. The research addresses in its theoretical part: the definition of the circle, its origin from nature, its Varity that enriches the design, its simotology and its rulse in modern art, as well as the definition of fractal geometry, its properties, the production of fractals, and fractal art. In the experimental part of the research, the aims have been proven by creating modern and creative art-facts inspired from fractal geometry.
