Transportation of petroleum products is an integral part of the oil and gas complex. At the moment, fire protection systems cannot fully ensure the safe operation of railway transport when transporting oil products. In order to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements of fire safety and, at the same time, the use of a minimum modernization of technology, a method is proposed to reduce the calculated values of fire risk when transporting petroleum products. When applying the technology

By introducing "smart materials" into the environment of petroleum products, it is possible to control the parameters of nanostructures, which makes it possible to significantly reduce fire and explosion hazard manifestations during the circulation of petroleum products, including during their transportation. According to the results of the study, it was shown that the use of the technology of stabilization of nanostructures will reduce the magnitude of the damaging factors due to an accident by an average of 30%. Based on the data obtained, it was concluded that it is possible to use nanomaterials with controlled parameters in the environment of petroleum products during their transportation in fire protection systems, including as additives.
