On the issue of atomizing fuel with diesel injectors
[article]
2019
Based on experiments carried out on air models of atomizer nozzles, the assumption is confirmed that the main cause of fuel atomization by diesel fuel injectors is the turbulence of the liquid flowing from the injector. Relations are obtained making it possible to plot curves of distribution of droplets by size for marine diesel fuel injectors, depending on the conditions of discharge and physical properties of the liquid undergoing atomization.
