The creation of small and cheap sensors promoted the emergence of large scale sensor networks. Sensor networks allow monitoring a variety of physical phenomena, like weather conditions (temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure ...), traffic levels on highways or rooms occupancy in public buildings.
