Nasonovia ribisnigri is the most notorious pest of outdoor lettuce in Europe. Direct feeding damage and virus transmission can cause serious yield reductions. Although N. ribisnigri is not an indigenous aphid species in Taiwan, it has recently been frequently recorded in the customs inspection of imported lettuce.
