Water has no foe but a friend to all: in households, agriculture and industrial activities. Water is not only important to our health but to the development of the economy and ecosystems. In spite of these facts about water, this resource continues to be a scarce commodity in Africa and other developing countries. The paper aimed at comparing the schematic links between water and other components of poverty and/or development such as GDP, HDI, and life expectancy in selected African countries.
