A major task in next-generation wireless cellular networks is provisioning of quality of service (QoS) over the bandwidth limited and error-prone wireless link. In this paper, we propose a cross-layer design scheme to provide QoS for voice and data traffic in wireless cellular networks with differentiated services (DiffServ) backbone. The scheme combines the transport layer protocols and link layer resource allocation to both guarantee the QoS requirements in the transport layer and achievedoi:10.1109/twc.2006.1611069 fatcat:hzjm3imcovepfdq7dlizsfetnu
