The article analyses the attitudes of the population towards Lithuanian banking and public confidence in the sector regarded as an integral part of economic security. The statement that historically erroneous policies and practices are key to the present-day low public confidence in the banking sector is illustrated by factual samples of Lithuanias banking experience.
