Study of Effects of Temperature Modulation on Double Diffusive Convection in Oldroyd-B Liquids
2016
International Journal of Engineering Research and
The effect of modulation of temperature has been studied on double diffusive convection in viscoelastic Oldroyd-B liquid. A linear analysis has been done. The thermal Rayleigh number for the modulation problem is obtained using regular perturbation technique. It is observed that the effect of the stress relaxation parameter is to destabilize the system whereas strain retardation parameter and the Lewis number stabilize the system. Modulation is shown to give rise to super-critical motion.
