The network capacity of wireless systems can be increased drastically by extracting multiuser diversity gain. The multiuser diversity gain is obtained by granting scheduling priority to the mobile station (MS) with the best current channel condition. There are a couple of drawbacks in multiuser diversity schedulers such as the linearly increasing feedback load with the number of MSs and the degrading fairness.
