High Brachiocephalic Artery

We present a case of a high brachiocephalic artery extending as far superiorly as the thyroid gland. Recognition of this rare anomaly is necessary to avoid potential catastrophic hemorrhage or other complications during percutaneous and surgical procedures on the trachea and neck. A high brachiocephalic artery is a rare anomaly that can result in catastrophic hemorrhage if unrecognized during invasive procedures on the neck.
