In conform hp-finite element schemes on irregular meshes, one has to ensure the finite element functions to be continuous across edges and faces in the presence of hanging nodes. A key approach is to constrain the appropriate shape functions using so-called connectivity matrices. In this work the connectivity matrices for hierarchical tensor product shape functions are explicitly determined.
