The article presents statistical data on indicators of the level of robotization of domestic and foreign industry; describes the trends in the development of industry during its robotization, indicates the scope of application of industrial robots, etc. The factors of expediency of using robots in industry are analyzed. The inevitability of the general growth of industrial robotization and, as a result, a change in the economic structure in developed countries and, possibly with a certain lag in Russia has been substantiated.
