For investment in electronic commerce, evidence has shown that businesses have difficulty in evaluating when to use information technology and how to measure its economic benefits. Solving this basic problem is essential for business and government decision makers as they apply promising new electronic commerce technology to improve their organizations' performance. We conclude with a discussion of the requirements for any theoretical framework attempting to assess the value of electronic commerce technology, including KV A, as well as a how such approaches can help management redesign core processes using this new technology.
