Diverse cardiac diseases induce cardiac hypertrophy, which leads to dilatation and heart failure. We previously reported that hypertrophy can be blocked by class I histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, which prompted us to investigate the regulatory mechanism of class I HDACs.
