The impact of covid-19 pandemic on Slovenia as tourist destination

COVID-19 has affected all tourist destinations, but tourism is now recovering faster in some places than elsewhere. The key role in the recovery of tourism is played by the state or the government through appropriate measures. We will present the differences between EU countries in terms of the decline in tourism. The coronavirus mostly affected those countries where tourism accounts for a large part of the economy, such as Italy, Spain, Greece, etc. In Slovenia, tourist vouchers received by
more » ... citizens of the Republic of Slovenia saved the season in 2020 and 2021. The government has donated a third of all aid to alleviate the crisis in tourism. A new tourism strategy is also under development, which will continue to develop tourism products in the field of sustainability. Until the crisis, Italians visited Slovenia the most, but they have recently been replaced by Germans in order to save domestic tourism. In the future, the protection of the health and well-being of both employees and visitors will be at the forefront of tourism.
