The study aims to know the prevalence of HIV transmission from mother to child on prospective and retrospective basis. A Cross sectional study conducted at tertiary care hospitals, which are attached to the Department of OBG, Narayana Medical College, Nellore, Andrapradesh during 2011-2012 The data was collected from pre tested questionnaires. EID done after 6 weeks showed 2 (4.0%) infants were positive. at 6 months and 1 year none of them were found to be positive. HIV confirmatory test done
