Dr. Seelman speaks of a possible "proteotropic" comple¬ ment fixation with purified acetone-insoluble lipoids. As this term was introduced by the writer (1909) to designate the fixation due to various proteins when mixed with fresh serums there is no question of a proteotropic fixation with an antigen containing no proteins.
