Schwannomas are benign neurogenic tumors and the leading neurogenic tumor of the neck. Only ultrasonography may be inadequate for diagnosis of a neck mass. This is the first case in literature with a neck mass, diagnosed as hydatic cyst; however, the histopathology revealed that it was a cystic schwannoma. When met a cystic neck mass, one should always keep in mind that; schwannomas should be placed at differential diagnosis.
