The purpose of this article is to determine the main components of the psychological readiness of law enforcement officer for effective professional actions in extreme situations. The authors proceed from the provision that preparedness for extreme situations is, along with various kinds of general and narrow professional competencies, a functional element of the professional adaptation of employees of internal affairs bodies.
