In the framework of the Horizon 2020 EU project PROMINENT, the fuel-consumption-reduction potential of a Danube vessel is evaluated. The vessel is sailing between Regensburg and Budapest on the Upper Danube. The results comprise sailing time and fuel consumption derived for three different constant delivered power values representing the most significant power range the vessel is being operated in, as well as 3 different speeds over ground when sailing downstream. They are evaluated for 15

The afore-mentioned results are given for three different water levels: the Low Navigable Water Level (LNWL), an artificial Mean Water Level (MWL) and the Highest Navigable Water Level (HNWL), and they are combined to different sailing strategies comprising sailing with different constant brake powers upstream and speeds over ground downstream.
