Of these, the first, second and fourth inscriptions were already in the depository when the new excavation season began under the direction of Professor Nurettin Arslan in 2006. There is no record in the archive about the find-spots of the second and fourth inscriptions. These two artifacts were probably found in the vicinity of Assos and moved to the depository in order to preserve them. The third fragment was discovered in 2007 in a trench located northeast of the burial enclosure thought to belong to the Larichos family, in the western necropolis of the city. The fifth fragmentary inscription was found in Çamköy, a village located northeast of Gülpınar, by Dr. Beate Arslan-Böhlendorf in the course of an archaeological field survey in 2013.
