The production and use of energy is also a root cause of a wide range of negative environmental and social problems. These include emission of greenhouse gases that fuel climate change, the overuse of finite fossil energy resources that threaten to become ever scarce, impacts on local environment, and land use that may lead to conflicts over the realization of energy
