Production of SrCO3 from SrSO4 through the Black Ash Process

In this study, using strontium sulfate (SrSO 4 ) recovered from magnetite ore in Hongcheon, the Black Ash process was used to produce strontium carbonate (SrCO 3 ). In the carbothermic reaction step, SrSO 4 was reacted with carbon (C) at 1273 K under Ar gas atmosphere using a gas-tight quartz reactor to produce strontium sulfide (SrS).
