Phylogenetic analysis of the viral protein 1 (VP1) gene, as well as the hypervariable region of the CIAV genome, indicated that Iraqi CIAV strains have belonged into genotype II. Amino acid comparison exhibit that the diversity of VP1 is indicated that the new strains were extremely pathogenic viruses.
