Musculoskeletal and vascular ageing: Points of intersection
2019
This thesis investigates clinical relationships between diseases frequently co-existing in older age. It identifies individuals that with low muscle and bone mass frequently have significant amounts of cardiovascular disease, particularly diseases which affect blood vessels. This thesis does not support the use of vitamin D to treat these conditions and further, it demonstrates that very high amounts of calcium in the diet may be detrimental to cardiovascular health.
