A genetic algorithm with coverage for object localization

The object localization problem is to compute the orientation for a given object which best fits the sensed data. In this paper, Genetic algorithm (GA) for object localization is investigated. A method called Coveragebased Genetic Induction (COGIN) is applied to solve the problem of object localization. A comparison between COGIN and Simple GA (SGA) is reported. They are tested by using synthetic edge images with different levels of random noise. From the experimental results, it is shown that
