Clinical and electroencephalographic studies were carried out to clarify the characteristics of latent epilepsy (LE) in children and to obtain criteria for treatment. LE was defined as a condition manifesting epileptic EEG abnormalities without any clinical epilepsy, febrile convulsion or other seizures.
