Discovery tools change the information search process. Based on the German information literacy standards, this paper analyzes the instructional potential of features offered by discovery tools and of students' search behaviour in discovery tools. The instructional focus then shifts to defining the information need, formulating a search strategy, finding search terms, evaluating and using information -topics with shared responsibility for both librarians and lecturers.
