Low-temperature condensation of m-phenylene diamine and various aromatic aldehydes (benzaldehyde, m-, o-nitrobenzaldehyde, p-diethylaminobenzaldehyde, o-, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 4-hydroxy-3,5-ditert-butylbenzaldehyde) in the ethyl alcohol medium synthesized new azomethine compounds. With the help of spectral methods and elemental analysis, the structure of the azomethine compounds obtained was confirmed.
