Six novel compounds have been synthesized combining pharmacological potential of benzimidazole and schiff's bases ring. A new series of substituted benzimidazole derivative 3a-3f were synthesized by cyclocondensation of 4-(2-(1H-benzo[d]imidazol-1-yl)-2-oxoethyl)semicarbazide with various aryl benzaldehyde derivatives. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, MASS and 1 H NMR spectral data. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for in vitro anti-cancer activity by MTT assay.
