The strength and elongation of two-fold staple yarn have been analyzed here. Experimental data obtained show that the calculated strength and elongation agree well with the observed one. The main results are what follows : 1) When a two-fold staple yarn is broken, a pressure is produced in the yarn. The pressure is determined mainly by following function. This function is called pressure function.
