Ornithologist to the Australian Museum. THE Ornithological Oollection made by Mr. Hedley consists of six specimens, referable to four well known Australasian species, and one egg. Mr. Hedley has supplied an interesting note on the "Lakea" (Micranous leucocapillus). Although found on most islets near the line, Totanus incanus and Ste .. na melanauchen have not, I believe, been previously recorded from the Ellice Islands.
