The fixed bed column adsorption study was conducted in a column of 35 cm height, 2 cm inner diameter in which aqueous solution of copper (II) ions of concentration 20 mg/L at a constant flow rate of 10 mL/minute passed upwards through calcium carbonate bed of depth 10 cm. The break through time and exhaust time were found to be 153 and 344 minutes respectively. The time required for the formation of adsorbent zone was estimated as 85.95 minutes.
