SYNOPSIS In a turle-gT'rlss bed (11talassla testedinum) next to a coral reef (Acropora spp.), 105 spedes of Jilh were observed, 42% 01" them belongeá to the community of benthic residents, 45% to suprabenthic nomads and 13% were transients. The importllnce of MiBepora complanata as me/ter for the benthic residents is emphasized; it is thought that the dilltrlbution of the species oblerVed is btzIed upon trophic differences.
